This is a PART TIME service. We have owned the dyno since 2017 and operated under the name Dyno2u,llc After losing money for over five years, our tax person recommended we close our LLC. The government doesn't allow business to operate at a loss over that time before it classifies it as a "hobby." The southern Oregon area seems to be growing, but demand is intermittent and seasonal so this is done with my spare time as a hobby.
I have been working on specialty vehicles for over 35 years. I have a computer science degree and a degree in automotive technology. Out of college in 1993 I was honored to be awarded the Mitchell 1 / ASE Technician of the Future Award. This award is given yearly to the student who takes the tests for the first time and achieves the highest composite score of any student in North America on A4, A5, A6 and A8 tests. I continued my training and became an ASE certified Master Technician and held the advanced L1 certification. I have always done well fixing problem vehicles that no one else wanted to touch. In 2013 an injury in my arm caused me to have to stop doing heavy lifting (wrenching), so after a few years I purchased the chassis dyno to fill the technical void I was missing. The dyno is a tool. If you have someone who isn't technical, skips or doesn't understand the basics, your experience will not be as successful. If you need help or advice please let me know. Phone calls are always free, but time is limited so you may have to wait for a call back.
I keep getting the same questions over and over. Someone who offers you a remote "cookie cutter tune" built off of someone else's engine, probably isn't doing you any favors. Race only applications are faster to tune than street driven vehicles. It takes a manufacture weeks to get a prototype vehicle up to OEM standards, different models make variations to the tune. Revisions continue even after model launch. Someone who tells you it will only take a few hours or they will sell you a tune made for someone else and your street driven vehicle will drive perfect isn't being honest. It will probably be better, but its not going to be flawless. Just like everything else with custom vehicles, time is money and the more time you spend on something, the better the results. I have had many customers ask me to redo their existing tune. The biggest factor between a good tune and a bad one is time spent. A lot of people are on a budget and thats understandable. The most cost effective way to use the dyno time for a street driven vehicle is to work on the tune until it behaves the way you want it under all conditions then spend a few hours on the dyno fine tuning your work. If your car will not even run or drive normally, you don't need a dyno tune yet, you have basic problems to fix. It may be tuning or electrical-mechanical problems. I have helped people with that too, but it's a process that needs to be done before you get on anyones rollers. One of the biggest problems I see often are cheapo ebay/amazon injectors running people in circles over thier tune. If you are having problems make sure the problem isn't you cutting corners. Buy injectors from a reputable injector company that has done true flow testing and has their info available. None of those companies are on amazon and they don't sell injectors for $199 a set.
