2wd Chassis Dyno Testing

Most of our customers have a very large investment in their vehicle. After spending so much, a dyno testing session on a high end dyno can find some real gains or confirm that the setting you already have. We have dyno data channels to monitor fuel mixture, vacuum/boost for diagnostics and tuning. We use a Dyno Dynamics load-bearing eddy-current chassis dynamometer, so loads can be applied for long time periods to simulate hills and part throttle load situations. Results are weather-corrected and the dyno accurately handles everything from from 30 wheel hp up to its limit of 1000 hp. Wheel speed is limited to 145 mph to protect the eddy brake. Dyno testing is more accurate for dialing in your project than other options like street tuning, or inertia only dynos. These testing sessions are likely the easiest and least expensive improvement on your whole project.

Service by appointment only. We will come to your suitable location, or if you need us to set up at your favorite shop, we may be able to do that too. Our chassis dyno events work the same way.

Dyno days for groups or clubs available.

We do recommend at least having one spare o2 sensor bung installed in an accessible location (close to the header collector if possible) if you are planning on using the wideband o2 system on the dyno. We can also use our o2 tailpipe probe if you have at least 2 feet of straight tailpipe, that requires no additional work or parts. The tailpipe probe is susceptible to errors at low rpm due to backflow. The dedicated o2 bung is better.

A driveshaft failure can be extremely dangerous on the dyno. It can tear up our equipment and yours. It can also cause injuries if it hits someone. We now REQUIRE a driveshaft loop AND a heavy duty drive shaft on most engine swapped and/or high power cars. Lowered trucks can explode driveshafts even at low hp levels due to improper drive shaft angles. Safety first! Front wheel drive vehicles over 350 hp require HD shafts also. No Exceptions! Contact us if you have questions.

Charges

Minimum charge for our mobile dyno setup and delivery is $480 for three hours of dyno testing time. This minimum is for local customers only. Additional time after the three hours, can be purchased at $140 per hour, charged in half hour blocks. Six hours maximum. Contact us for any additional requirements you may need pricing on. If you dont need a full three hours time, talk a friend into sharing your time. Other labor charges for tuning or electrical work without the dyno are $80 per hour. We never double charge for our time. If you are paying for the dyno time, any tuning or other assistance is included. Local Dyno days for groups are priced the same, the difference is more people are splitting the costs, but vehicles are spending much less time on the dyno. Dyno setup and tear down time are not counted against your dyno testing time.

Onsite Mobile Chassis Dyno Testing

Dyno is set up on your suitable concrete pad for your own testing/tuning or groups.
Minimum charge includes (local) travel and dyno setup/tear down time, plus your full dyno testing time. One hour of time averages 4-8 pulls with cool-down time between runs. Safely attaching and removing the vehicle from the dyno does take time, but once its on, the dyno pulls are fairly efficient and quick. Pull time averages less than a minute per pull. The faster the cool down the more runs you get. We have a very expensive 1200 cfm dyno fan to help keep IAT and coolant temperatures in check. When multiple vehicles are run, or if your vehicle cools down slowly, please note additional time may be needed depending on the setup of each car. It is best to have an electric fan to switch on to help speed up cooling between pulls. Time does not stop for parts changing, cool down, tuning, strapping down or removing the vehicles, etc. Time starts when the first car is rolled on the ramps to be strapped down and stops when the last car rolls off and we start packing up our equipment. To repeat above - Dyno setup and tear down time are not counted against your dyno testing time. We always have 2 hours (or more) in placing and removing the dyno that customers are not charged for. This is why dyno testing time onsite is limited to 6 hours maximum.

Payment

Paid in full at the beginning of testing. Any additional charges are due before we leave the property. We dont have the ability to accept debit or credit cards.

Don helped out getting my 258 Jeep to run better than it had before. Really nice to see the fuel flows in real time.

- Mike Burrill - Sep 13, 2019

Don is the man..he can figure out all your problems. He got my MSD atomic fuel system all figured out. He also helped me configure and install new distributor. When it didn't want to run right he pin pointed the problem and rewired the tach signal..I would have never figured out how to fix without don. A big thank you to don..

First time getting to dyno test my diesel swapped jeep grand cherokee! I had a great experience, and was shown how to read the display screen and run my own dyno test, very friendly and informative, and now i have a baseline on my build
